Bedroom ideas for teenage guys are not very abundant in comparison to ideas for girls. Boys may not get overly excited over home decor, but teenage guys do like their spaces. If you look at my Pinterest account, you’ll see a lot of bedroom ideas for teenage guys. The board should have more ideas, but honestly, photos of rooms for this age are few and far between.
We recently updated a bonus room that is guy friendly and makes mom happy! Let’s continue creating spaces for boys. I’m on a mission to bring you the very best bedroom ideas for teenage guys. Who knows, maybe future daughter-in-laws will thank me one day!
Sam is this week’s recipient of bedroom ideas for guys. Sam has a lovely large bedroom measuring 13′ x’13 with a single large but north facing, window. Versatility is important when designing bedroom ideas for teenage guys. Here is a scale floor plan of his room and how we divide the room up into different zones.
Bedroom Ideas for Teenage Guys: Room Layout
Mom wants the room to have longevity and be budget friendly. Sam’s a teenager, and the design needs to last through his high school years and beyond. The goal of this room is to combine a classic and industrial look. The basis of the room begins by recommending a removable faux brick wallpaper behind the bed.
The perfect color palette selection for a teenage boy is gray, blue and red. The color scheme is classic and will last for years. Any future changes to the room would easily work within the color palette.
Bedroom Ideas for Teenage Guys: Mood Board
Sam has a couple of side tables that will get reuse. However, those tables will need to be painted. I think the best color for the night stands is Sherwin Williams Dovetail. It’s a few shades darker than Repose Gray yet not so dark that it will always appear dusty!

This kid is a H.U.G.E. football fan. He eats, breathes and lives football. This coming week he’ll be away at a football camp. It’s the perfect opportunity to tackle his room. Momma’s plan is to get in there, scour it floor to ceiling and then pull the whole project together. When he returns, his room will look completely different and more mature.
When designing a bedroom for teenage boys, it’s so important the design speaks to their personality. Adding accessories and wall decor nearly guarantees boys will be perfectly happy in how you decorate the room. The look of this teenage guys bedroom is intended to be young, fun, a little rough around the edges and full of football. He’ll feel right at home when he falls into his bed after a few days of hard drills.
Summer is a great time to get decorating projects done. These are just a few of the design elements we are incorporating into Sam room.
